In an era dominated by top seeds and high-NIL spending dominance, the cinderella stories of old might be nonexistent.
That doesn’t mean ‘March Madness’ can’t earn its name, and on Sunday, the NCAA Tournament did just that.
After a back-and-forth start, the Michigan Wolverines kicked it into high gear to beat Tennessee in dominant fashion. That was no surprise.
The stunner came in Game 2: with the No. 1 overall seed Duke up by as many as 19 over UConn, but the Huskies showed the grit and resilience that earned Dan Hurley’s squad back-to-back National titles just two years ago.
Down 2 in the closing moments, UConn got the steal it needed, and the logo triple on the final shot to seal the deal.
